The Orenada Property hosts two main known gold zones, Orenada Zone 2 and Zone 4, situated on the Cadillac Break, and was extensively tested by more than 100,000 feet of drilling in 200 holes from 1930 to the mid-1980s. Extensive surface drilling was carried out in the mid-1980s, and an open pit was developed at Zone 4 to obtain a bulk sample, from which 4,200 ounces of gold was produced. An underground exploration program began in 1985, and included 53,773 feet of underground drilling in 139 holes, 3,700 feet of drifting and raising on two levels, and a three-compartment shaft sunk to 905 feet. The project was placed on hold in 1987.

Alexandria’s first hole on the property, DDH AAX-07-12, was drilled in early 2007, and intersected 12.55 metres (core length) grading 7.9 g/t gold, including a 4.05-metre wide zone grading 21.37 g/t gold (containing visible gold), extending known gold mineralization by 50 m.

Orenda Resource 3D Video - Click Here to PlaySince acquiring the Orenada property Alexandria has completed 61 holes totaling some 22,000m of drilling on the Orenada Zone 2 and Zone 4. Alexandria has had considerable success with drilling on this property and has identified wide low grade intervals such as 89.10 metres grading 1.09 g/t gold, including 12.60 m grading 5.65 g/t gold, and 110.10 metres grading 0.50 g/t gold; as well as narrower high grade intercepts including 8.15 metres grading 11.44 g/t and 1.5 metres grading 16.50 g/t. Known gold mineralization at Orenada now occurs over more than 1,500 m along strike, down to a depth of 300m-500m, about four times the size as when Alexandria acquired it.

In September 2009, the Company completed a NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Orenada property that identified a Measured and Indicated Resources and Inferred Resources as follows:

The Orenada deposit remains open at depth and along strike with potential to increase known gold mineralization near surface, between Orenada 2 and 4, and at depth. The Company is currently in the process of completing a Phase 1 Preliminary Economic Assessment on Orenada to be released in the near future.
