Joannes Township Property
-Project Summary

39 claims - Noranda, Quebec

The Joannes Township property is situated 20 km east of Noranda and straddles six km of the Cadillac Break. Historic mines in the region include Bousquet (3 million oz. gold) about 15 km east of the Joannes claims. The Hosco mine about 200 metres west on an adjacent property saw limited gold production in the mid-20th century. Government reports indicate that about 150,000 ounces of gold (pre-dating 43-101 reporting standards) remain at the mine-site in and south of the Cadillac Break. A number of companies have reported new gold discoveries along the Break east and west of Alexandria’s claims, with one example being the Wood-Pandora Project currently being drilled by Globex Mining Enterprises and Queenston Mining (Globex Release, October 19, 2006).

Alexandria effectively doubled the Joannes Township Project through a September 2006 agreement to earn 50% of 20 adjacent claims from Xstrata plc by spending $500,000 on exploration by mid-2010. An important target on these claims is the East Hosco Showing where historic drilling yielded 18.1 g/t gold over 1.5 metres.

Historic drilling at the core claims intersected gold mineralization in a number of holes, both along the Cadillac Break and on secondary fault structures. On the Break, gold values ranging from 2.06 g/t to 10.63 g/t over widths ranging from 0.5 metre to 1.5 metres were intersected over a strike length of 2,600 metres. On the secondary fault zone, gold values from 2.05 g/t up to 12 g/t were intersected over widths from 0.5 metre to 1.5 metres. The wide spacing of these holes (generally 150-300 metres) and the maximum depth of penetration (mostly between 100-200 metres, rarely to 200 metres) together indicate good potential for new discoveries, especially at depth. Many new gold discoveries along the Cadillac Break (such as the Lapa deposit of Agnico-Eagle Mines) have been made between depths of 300 metres and 1,500 metres.

On October 29th, 2008 Alexandria signed an option agreement agreement with Aurizon Mines Ltd. to earn 100% ownership of 19 claims on the southern most part of the Joannes Property. Under the terms of the agreement Aurizon will 1) pay Alexandria $200,000 cash and issue Aurizon common shares with a market value of $200,000 within 30 days of the effective date of the formal agreement, 2) complete $650,000 in exploration expenditures on the property over two years, and 3) issue additional common shares with a market value of $1.6 million to Alexandria before the second anniversary of the formal agreement date.

Historic results at the Joannes Property pre-date NI 43-101 disclosure standards, should not be relied upon, and are provided only to indicate the potential of the property.
