Peter Gundy – Chairman of the Board
Mr. Gundy began his career as a Mergers and Acquisitions lawyer in Montreal. He subsequently co-founded Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan (now PotashCorp), where he served as Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He went on to become Vice President, Corporate Finance, at Dominion Securities, before founding Neo Material Technologies Inc., a high-tech magnet manufacturing company in China and Southeast Asia, which was subsequently acquired by Molycorp for $1.3 billion. Mr. Gundy has also served on the boards of a number of junior and mid-tier mining-related companies.
Walter Henry – Director
Walter is currently President of Frontline Gold Corporation, holds a BA in Political Science/Economics, and has several years experience in the finance and mining industries. He served with CIBC, BNP Paribas, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he managed portfolios and arranged project financing totaling over $1 billion. He has since held executive positions with Royal Nickel Corporation, Tiberon Minerals, and Alturas Minerals.
Gary O’Connor – Director
Gary O’Connor is currently the Vice President, Exploration of Dundee Resources Limited where he has been responsible for the technical due diligence of resource projects. During his 30 years’ global experience in the mineral exploration industry he has been instrumental with the discovery, growth, and development of several large gold and base metal deposits in Romania, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia, while employed by Gabriel Resources, European Goldfields, Freeport-McMoRan, BP Minerals and Amax Minerals. Gary graduated from the University of Auckland in 1982 with a degree in geology, geophysics and environmental studies, and is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geology.
Priya Patil – Director
Ms. Patil brings to Alexandria over 20 years senior executive experience in the financial services industry as an investment banker and finance attorney. She was most recently Head of Diversified Industries responsible for business development at the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange. In this role, she primarily advised corporate boards and management teams as well as pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and private equity funds on IPO strategies for their investee companies. Her investment banking experience prior to the TMX Group includes Managing Director and founding partner at PI Financial Corp. relating to their expansion into Eastern Canada and as the Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon Limited.
Mark Ashcroft – Director
Mark has been involved in various capacities in the global mining industry and the North American and European debt and equity markets since 1990. He is currently President and CEO of Aurelius Minerals Inc. Previously, Mark served as President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Stonegate Agricom Ltd. from August 2008 to September 2014. From 2007 to 2008, Mark worked at Versant Partners, where he was responsible for successfully developing a mining finance business for that firm in sales, trading and corporate finance. Prior to joining Versant Partners, Mark had been employed since 2003 with Toll Cross Securities Inc., a boutique institutional firm in Toronto where he became Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking. From 2001 to 2003, Mark was a member of the Mining and Metals Team at Standard Bank’s New York office where he was responsible for providing metals trading and project financing solutions to mid-tier developers and producers in Canada and Latin America. From 1999 to 2000, he was a member of the Mining and Metals Team of Barclays Capital, a leading provider of project finance to the mining industry. From 1996 to 1998, he worked in Mines Technical Services at Inco Limited’s Ontario Division, where he qualified as a Professional Engineer in Ontario. From 1990 to 1996, through his undergraduate studies, Mark worked in various operating roles in North and South America and Australia. Mark holds his Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from Laurentian University and a Master’s of Science (Finance, Regulation and Risk Management) from the ISMA Centre of the University of Reading.
